{"id":44601,"date":"2016-09-30T12:10:15","date_gmt":"2016-09-30T19:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=44601"},"modified":"2016-09-30T12:10:15","modified_gmt":"2016-09-30T19:10:15","slug":"no-enhanced-commentary-on-star-trek-beyond-dvdblu-ray","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/09\/no-enhanced-commentary-on-star-trek-beyond-dvdblu-ray\/","title":{"rendered":"No Enhanced Commentary On Star Trek Beyond DVD\/Blu-ray"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Paramount<\/em> has chosen to make the audio commentary for <em>Star Trek Beyond<\/em> available on <em>iTunes<\/em>, and not on the initial DVD\/Blu-ray release, as with recent Trek movie releases.<\/p>\n<p>While it&#8217;s expected that fans purchasing the DVD\/Blu-ray will receive a digital HD redemption code, this still means that unless one has either <em>Apple TV<\/em> or can stream their device to their television, fans will need to watch the film with the commentary on a device or computer.<\/p>\n<p>It may well be that in a later release the commentary will be included, as was the case with the <em>Star Trek Compendium Blu-ray Collection<\/em> when it came out.<\/p>\n<p>This is the new reality, however. It used to be that a movie was released with all of the goodies.
