{"id":44654,"date":"2016-10-06T11:49:07","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T18:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=44654"},"modified":"2016-10-07T12:18:05","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T19:18:05","slug":"yelchin-caused-own-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2016\/10\/yelchin-caused-own-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Chrysler: Yelchin Caused Own Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In battling a lawsuit brought by <strong>Anton Yelchin<\/strong>&#8216;s parents, <em>Fiat Chrysler<\/em>, the company who manufactured the car, is blaming Yelchin for his own death.<\/p>\n<p>Yelchin was caused in a freak accident last summer when his Jeep Grand Cherokee pinned him between the vehicle and a brick pillar at his home in the San Fernando Valley.<\/p>\n<p>The company has responded to the lawsuit, asking to be removed from the case because they had &#8220;nothing to do with the accident.&#8221; The reasoning they gave included a statement saying that the actor&#8217;s &#8220;misuse, misapplication, or damage&#8221; of his vehicle lead to the accident that killed the actor.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>TMZ<\/em>, the dealer seems to be &#8220;hinting [Yelchin] made aftermarket changes that damaged the SUV.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chrysler also claims that Yelchin&#8217;s parents have not &#8220;preserved the vehicle&#8221;
