Eleven letters from William Shatner<\/strong> regarding his Star Trek<\/em> career will be auctioned off today by Nate D. Sanders Auctions<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The topics covered in the letters include Shatner’s reaction to the original pilot when introduced to it, the Shatner-Takei feud, the on-screen romance between Kirk-Uhura, Walter Koenig<\/strong>, envy of DeForest Kelley<\/strong>‘s marriage, Shatner’s decision to not attend the funeral of co-star Leonard Nimoy<\/strong> and more.<\/p>\n

The Trek pilot was “a little slow,” said Shatner in one of the letters, and “a little ponderous.” Shatner felt that it should include “some lightness, some humor.”<\/p>\n

As has been reported before, Shatner was a bit puzzled by George Takei<\/strong>‘s enmity towards him. “I had never really got to know him,” said Shatner. “He would come in every so often during the week while we were shooting Star Trek<\/em>. I was busy learning lines and dealing with my life, so I really can’t remember a meaningful conversation \u2014 I’m sure that would be my fault…my lack of attention.”<\/p>\n

“Trekkies worldwide will be fascinated by these unique topical recollections,” said auctioneer Nate Sanders<\/strong>. “They are a fantastic series to enhance the finest collection of Star Trek<\/em> memorabilia.”<\/p>\n

The letters, which can be seen here<\/a>, have minimum bids of $1,500 each.<\/p>\n
