{"id":45199,"date":"2017-01-18T11:55:52","date_gmt":"2017-01-18T19:55:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=45199"},"modified":"2017-01-18T11:56:39","modified_gmt":"2017-01-18T19:56:39","slug":"star-trek-discovery-delays-and-casting-ne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2017\/01\/star-trek-discovery-delays-and-casting-ne\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Trek: Discovery Delays And Casting News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is good news and bad news today for fans waiting for <em>Star Trek: Discovery.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The good news is that <strong>James Frain<\/strong> (<em>Gotham, Orphan Black, True Blood, Grimm, The Tudors, True Detective<\/em>) has been cast in a key role as Sarek, Spock&#8217;s father, in the show.<\/p>\n<p>The bad news is that even though filming is supposedly set to begin in Toronto next week, the show has been delayed &#8211; again. This is the second delay for<em> Discovery<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Production on <em>Star Trek: Discovery<\/em> begins next week,&#8221; said <em>CBS Television Studios<\/em> in a statement. &#8220;We love the cast, the scripts and are excited about the world the producers have created. This is an ambitious project; we will be flexible on a launch date if it&#8217;s best for the show. We&#8217;ve said from the beginning it&#8217;s more important to do this right than to do it fast.
