{"id":45594,"date":"2017-03-28T11:53:31","date_gmt":"2017-03-28T18:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=45594"},"modified":"2017-03-28T11:53:31","modified_gmt":"2017-03-28T18:53:31","slug":"yeoh-receives-french-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2017\/03\/yeoh-receives-french-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Yeoh Receives French Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Star Trek: Discovery<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Michelle Yeoh<\/strong> has received France&#8217;s highest honor.<\/p>\n<p>The actress received the <em>Commander of the Legion of Honour<\/em> award, which is the &#8220;highest civilian decoration anyone can receive from the French government and it is only bestowed on people who have rendered invaluable services to humanitarian efforts that are supported by France.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Established by<strong> Napoleon Bonaparte<\/strong> in 1802, it is divided into five ranks: Chevalier (Knight), Officier (Officer), Commandeur (Commander), Grand Officier (Grand Officer) and Grand Croix (Grand Cross).&#8221; Yeoh received the Chevalier title in 2007, and then the Officier title in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Yeoh is heavily involved in charity work, and was recently appointed <em>UNDP Goodwill Ambassador<\/em> in 2006 to &#8220;raise awareness for Sustainable Development Goals, a UNDP effort to eradicate poverty by 2030.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Star Trek: Discovery&#8216;s Michelle Yeoh has received France&#8217;s highest honor.
