{"id":45879,"date":"2017-05-10T12:16:26","date_gmt":"2017-05-10T19:16:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=45879"},"modified":"2017-05-10T12:16:26","modified_gmt":"2017-05-10T19:16:26","slug":"goldsmith-receives-hollywood-walk-of-fame-star","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2017\/05\/goldsmith-receives-hollywood-walk-of-fame-star\/","title":{"rendered":"Goldsmith Receives Hollywood Walk of Fame Star"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Composer <strong>Jerry Goldsmith<\/strong>, who wrote the musical scores for five <em>Star Trek<\/em> movies and the main theme for<em> The Next Generation <\/em>and<em> Voyager<\/em>, was honored with a star on the <em>Hollywood Walk of Fame<\/em> yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The star was awarded posthumously, thirteen years after his death.<\/p>\n<p>Goldsmith was nominated for eighteen Oscars from 1962 to 1998 winning once for <em>The Omen<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He always struck me as a little bit like <strong>Picasso<\/strong> in the sense that ideas just constantly flowed out of him \u2013 movie scores and TV scores and fanfares, an unstoppable stream,&#8221; said <strong>Michael Crichton<\/strong>, who collaborated with Goldsmith on four films. &#8220;I think, in a way, he was at the mercy of it.
