{"id":46186,"date":"2017-06-22T12:10:36","date_gmt":"2017-06-22T19:10:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=46186"},"modified":"2017-06-22T12:10:36","modified_gmt":"2017-06-22T19:10:36","slug":"gendel-at-escape-velocity-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2017\/06\/gendel-at-escape-velocity-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Gendel At Escape Velocity 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Those attending this year&#8217;s <em>Escape Velocity<\/em>, to be held September 1\u20133 at the <em>Marriott Wardman Park Hotel<\/em> in Washington, D.C. will be able to see a special screening of <em>The Next Generation: The Inner Light<\/em> with a commentary by screenwriter <strong>Morgan Gendel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Escape Velocity<\/em> is a micro futuristic world\u2019s fair to promote STEAM education within the context of science fiction using the fun of comic cons and fascination of science and engineering festivals. <em>Escape Velocity<\/em> seeks to make a measurable positive impact to boost informal learning on the more conceptually challenging academic areas.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gendel, who wrote the <em>Hugo Award<\/em>-winning<em> The Inner Light<\/em> episode, &#8220;is a screenwriter and producer with more than two hundred credits, including the <em>CW Network<\/em> hit, <em>The 100,<\/em> on which he serves as co-executive producer for the current season.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Seating is limited, first come, first served, with early entry for VIP ticket holders.
