{"id":46680,"date":"2017-08-30T12:04:23","date_gmt":"2017-08-30T19:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=46680"},"modified":"2017-08-30T12:04:23","modified_gmt":"2017-08-30T19:04:23","slug":"stewart-to-receive-peck-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2017\/08\/stewart-to-receive-peck-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Stewart To Receive Peck Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sir Patrick Stewart<\/strong> will be receiving an award from the<em> San Diego Film Foundation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On October 5, Stewart will be presented with the <em>Gregory Peck Award for Excellence in Cinema<\/em> at<em> The VARIETY Night of the Stars Tribute<\/em> which will be held at the <em>Pendry Hotel San Diego<\/em> in San Diego, California.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Gregory Peck Award for Excellence in Cinema<\/em> was created &#8220;in honor of famed actor and San Diego area native <strong>Gregory Peck<\/strong>&#8221; and is given &#8220;to an individual whose work has made a profound impact on the art of cinema.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Patrick Stewart has captivated audiences for years,&#8221; said <strong>Tonya Mantooth<\/strong>, Executive and Artistic Director of the <em>San Diego International Film Festival<\/em>; &#8220;With spectacular performances, from <em>Star Trek<\/em> to his career defining performance in<em> Logan<\/em> earlier this year, as well as his <em>Emmy<\/em> and <em>Golden Globe<\/em>-nominated performance as Captain Ahab in <em>Moby Dick<\/em>, a role which Mr. Peck made famous more than forty years earlier.
