Smith<\/strong> will write the script for the next <em>Star Trek<\/em> movie. He had been the frontrunner for the job after he and several other writers met with <em>Quentin Tarantino<\/em> earlier this month. Smith is best-known for writing 2015&#8217;s<em> The Revenant<\/em>, which starred <strong>Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The idea for the movie has come from Tarantino, who would like to direct the movie. Tarantino and <strong>J.J. Abrams<\/strong> would produce the film, which could be R-rated.<\/p>\n<p>Tarantino&#8217;s next film is about the 1969 Manson family murders which will release in summer of 2019. So the new Trek movie may not make its debut until after that movie.<\/p>\n<p>Attention readers: News will be light for the next week.
