{"id":47980,"date":"2018-03-15T12:16:01","date_gmt":"2018-03-15T19:16:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=47980"},"modified":"2018-04-13T13:38:36","modified_gmt":"2018-04-13T20:38:36","slug":"learn-klingon-on-duolingo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2018\/03\/learn-klingon-on-duolingo\/","title":{"rendered":"Learn Klingon On Duolingo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Duolingo<\/em>, the &#8220;free-to-use language learning service,&#8221; has added a Klingon course to its offerings.<\/p>\n<p>The addition came in response to one hundred-and-seventy thousand <em>Duolingo<\/em> users asking for the addition.<\/p>\n<p>This course should serve primarily as a complement to literature studies, like for instance reading <em>The Klingon Dictionary<\/em>,&#8221; said Klingon expert <strong>Felix Malmenbeck<\/strong>, who is one of the team of five responsible for developing the <em>Duolingo<\/em> Klingon language course.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My goal has been to gradually introduce grammar and then hit people with lots of vocabulary and try to make the sentences at least occasionally a bit fun,&#8221; Malmenbeck added.<\/p>\n<p>Klingon is not the first &#8220;constructed language&#8221; to be offered by <em>Duolingo<\/em>.
