{"id":48016,"date":"2018-03-22T12:15:14","date_gmt":"2018-03-22T19:15:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=48016"},"modified":"2018-04-13T13:44:38","modified_gmt":"2018-04-13T20:44:38","slug":"shatner-im-not-dead-yet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2018\/03\/shatner-im-not-dead-yet\/","title":{"rendered":"Shatner: I&#8217;m Not Dead Yet!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An ad on <em>Facebook<\/em> has annoyed the eighty-seven-year old <strong>William Shatner.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ad, from <em>Avocet Retail Sales<\/em>, began with &#8220;Fans will always hold a special place for &#8216;Captain Kirk,&#8221; after William was found&#8230;&#8221; and at the bottom of the ad, &#8220;Beloved Sci-Fi Actor Found D&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A fan let Shatner know about the ad, and Shatner was not happy. &#8220;Hey @facebook isn&#8217;t this your messenger app?&#8221; he said, via <em>Twitter<\/em>. &#8220;What&#8217;s up with you allowing this <em>Acocet Retail Sales<\/em> ad to pass your muster? Thought you were doing something about this?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Facebook<\/em>&#8216;s Director of Product Management,<strong> Rob Leathern<\/strong>, responded to Shatner&#8217;s post. &#8220;Thanks for letting us know about this,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We have removed this ad and Page from<em> Facebook<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you,&#8221; replied Shatner. &#8220;I&#8217;m not planning on dying so please continue to block those kinds of ads.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An ad on Facebook has annoyed the eighty-seven-year old William Shatner.
