{"id":48025,"date":"2018-03-23T12:20:35","date_gmt":"2018-03-23T19:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=48025"},"modified":"2018-03-23T12:20:35","modified_gmt":"2018-03-23T19:20:35","slug":"yelchin-family-settles-with-automaker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2018\/03\/yelchin-family-settles-with-automaker\/","title":{"rendered":"Yelchin Family Settles With Automaker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Anton Yelchin<\/strong>&#8216;s parents has settled with <em>Fiat Chrysler<\/em>, the manufacturer of the SUV that crushed the twenty-seven-year old to death in June of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>His parents had sued the automaker, claiming that the poor design of the shifter led to the fatal accident.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>FCA US<\/em> is pleased that we\u2019ve reached an amicable resolution in this matter,&#8221; said <em>Fiat Chrysler<\/em> said in a statement. &#8220;The details of the settlement are confidential. We continue to extend our deepest sympathies to the Yelchin family for their tragic loss.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gary Dordick<\/strong>, who is the attorney for Yelchin&#8217;s parents, said that the money awarded would go to the<em> Anton Yelchin Foundation<\/em>.
