{"id":48384,"date":"2018-05-16T13:17:13","date_gmt":"2018-05-16T20:17:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=48384"},"modified":"2018-05-16T13:17:13","modified_gmt":"2018-05-16T20:17:13","slug":"meyer-on-proposed-star-trek-miniseries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2018\/05\/meyer-on-proposed-star-trek-miniseries\/","title":{"rendered":"Meyer On Proposed Star Trek Miniseries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nick Meyer<\/strong> spoke last night at a <em>Shakespeare and Star Trek<\/em> event at the <em>UCI School of Humanities<\/em>, where he explained a comment made last year that he was &#8220;working on another <em>Star Trek<\/em> project&#8221; that would be a miniseries.<\/p>\n<p>An audience member at the event asked him about that miniseries. &#8220;A while back there were reports that you might be working on a <em>Star Trek<\/em> miniseries, is there any truth to that, if you&#8217;re allowed to say anything about that?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No, I can say something,&#8221; replied Meyer. &#8220;I was hired to write a stand-alone <em>Star Trek<\/em>-related trilogy, [details of which] I can&#8217;t discuss or I&#8217;d have to kill you. I was writing it for<em> CBS [All] Access.<\/em>..but at the moment <em>CBS<\/em> is at a war with <em>Paramount\/Viacom<\/em> [about merging].<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They&#8217;re in a power struggle which turned really nasty this past week when <em>CBS<\/em> decided to sue<em> Viacom<\/em>. So I don&#8217;t think my project is going anywhere in a hurry, because everything is on hold while they sort out this merger business.
