{"id":48452,"date":"2018-05-24T10:57:15","date_gmt":"2018-05-24T17:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=48452"},"modified":"2018-05-24T10:57:15","modified_gmt":"2018-05-24T17:57:15","slug":"star-trek-the-original-series-set-in-talks-to-expand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2018\/05\/star-trek-the-original-series-set-in-talks-to-expand\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Trek: The Original Series Set In Talks To Expand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is good news for <em>The Next Generation<\/em> fans with an announcement that the S<em>tar Trek: The Original Series Set<\/em> might branch out from the original series.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by <em>TrekMovie<\/em>, <strong>James Cawley<\/strong> is in &#8220;preliminary discussions with <em>CBS<\/em> to expand the set tour to include the <em>USS Enterprise-D<\/em> sets from<em> Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The hope is to use a building located next door to the original series set, which is larger than the current building in which the original series set resides. The building next door also had two floors, and Cawley would like to &#8220;create the full footprint&#8221; of the <em>USS Enterprise TNG<\/em> sets.<\/p>\n<p>If the talks go well, Cawley would begin work on the set &#8220;within a year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the original series set will gain some additions with the <em>Enterprise<\/em>&#8216;s Auxiliary Control Room and the Emergency Manual Monitor (second floor of Engineering).
