In a press release, Mego Toys <\/em>and Target<\/em> announced that toys tied in with hit properties, including Star Trek<\/em>, would be arriving between now and the end of November.<\/p>\n

Fans will remember that Mego<\/em> figures were quite popular in the 1970s, and the original figures command a handsome sum at conventions and from Ebay.<\/p>\n

“Iconic Action Figure Brand Mego<\/em> Returns Exclusive to Target<\/em>. Hit toy line makes retail comeback for a new generation driven by fan demand.<\/p>\n

“Mego Corporation<\/em> is proud to announce the return of the ground-breaking action figure toy line, Marty Abrams presents Mego<\/em>, which will be available exclusively at Target<\/em> this August.<\/p>\n

“The first wave will include characters from hit properties like Star Trek, DC<\/em> and I Dream of Jeannie.<\/em> Each will have a unique serial number and be produced in a limited run of ten thousand.<\/p>\n

“‘This has been thirty years in the making and I’m excited to give my loyal fans and their kids something new and amazing to play with,’ said Martin Abrams<\/strong>, Co-Founder and CEO of Mego Corporation<\/em>. ‘We wanted to recreate a line that provides that nostalgic feeling of seeing a display of action figures they had as a child, and to share that with their own children.’<\/p>\n

“Marty Abrams presents Mego<\/em> will be revealing the new line at San Diego Comic-Con<\/em> (booth 830), July 19th \u2013 22nd. Comic-Con<\/em> guests will have a unique opportunity to purchase a limited number of the new action figures before they launch at Target<\/em>. All items will be signed by Marty Abrams and a special celebrity guest.”<\/p>\n

Other figures will include Broadway Joe Namath<\/strong>, Action Jackson<\/em>; and characters from The Brady Bunch, Cheers, I Dream of Jeanie<\/em>, and Married with Children.<\/em><\/p>\n
