{"id":48762,"date":"2018-07-18T11:50:01","date_gmt":"2018-07-18T18:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=48762"},"modified":"2018-07-18T11:50:01","modified_gmt":"2018-07-18T18:50:01","slug":"pegg-on-toxic-fandom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2018\/07\/pegg-on-toxic-fandom\/","title":{"rendered":"Pegg On Toxic Fandom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the negative parts of working on a hit franchise is having to deal with online &#8220;toxic fandoms,&#8221; but that doesn&#8217;t faze <strong>Simon Pegg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Not all fandoms are toxic, and according to Pegg, when a fandom is smaller or united in its views of a show\/movie, there are usually much fewer problems. &#8220;I&#8217;ve never experienced it with<em> Mission: Impossible<\/em> fans and I think it&#8217;s because <em>Mission: Impossible<\/em> doesn&#8217;t really have those schisms within its fanbase,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t think it has a fanbase in that same respect that comic book movies and science fiction does.
