{"id":49063,"date":"2018-08-24T14:45:11","date_gmt":"2018-08-24T21:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=49063"},"modified":"2018-08-24T14:45:11","modified_gmt":"2018-08-24T21:45:11","slug":"cho-joins-netflix-drama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2018\/08\/cho-joins-netflix-drama\/","title":{"rendered":"Cho Joins Netflix Drama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Star Trek: Beyond<\/em>&#8216;s John Cho has joined the <em>Netflix<\/em> drama <em>Tigertail<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tigertail<\/em> is the story of Director <strong>Alan Yang<\/strong>&#8216;s &#8220;multi-generational family drama.&#8221; The script is &#8220;based on events that happened in his own family.&#8221; The movie &#8220;focuses on two people&#8217;s poor life choices,&#8221; and it &#8220;touches on themes of regret, longing, passion, and repression while spanning continents and generations, from 1950&#8217;s Taiwan to present-day New York City.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cho will take on the role of Grover, a man who &#8220;leaves his home country of Taiwan to move to America with Zhenzhen (<strong>Kunjue Li<\/strong>), a woman with whom he feels little connection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tzi Ma<\/strong> (<em>Arrival<\/em>) and <strong>Christine Ko<\/strong> (<em>Hawaii Five-O<\/em>) will also star in the drama.<\/p>\n<p>Shooting on <em>Tigertail<\/em> begins next week in New York and Taiwan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Star Trek: Beyond&#8216;s John Cho has joined the Netflix drama Tigertail.
