and several<em> Star Trek <\/em>actors will be taking part.<\/p>\n<p>The new series, called <em>The Dark Crystal: The Age of Resistance<\/em>, is a prequel to the original movie, and will feature the &#8220;world of Thra and the Crystal of Truth being corrupted by the powers of the Skeksis,&#8221; and &#8220;Gelfing Rian (<strong>Taron Egerton<\/strong>), Brea <strong>(Anya Taylor-Joy<\/strong>) and Deet (<strong>Nathalie Emmanuel<\/strong>) discover the secret of the Skeksis and begin a rebellion to take back their planet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trek actors supplying voices for the show include: <em>Star Trek: Discovery<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Shazad Latif <\/strong>and<strong> Jason Isaacs<\/strong>, and <em>Star Trek Beyond<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Simon Pegg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark Hamill<\/strong> will also be among the many actors providing a voice for a character.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cindy Holland<\/strong><em>, Netflix&#8217;<\/em>s VP of Original Series, said: &#8220;We knew we had to entice some incredible voice talent to add dimension to the exquisite artistry of the puppeteers who bring the characters to life.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am proud to say that this may be one of the finest casts assembled from the world\u2019s favorite TV shows and movies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Look for <em>Dark Crystal: The Age of Resistance<\/em> next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Netflix is redoing 1980&#8217;s The Dark Crystal as a new series;
