Ethan Peck<\/strong>, the grandson of Gregory Peck<\/strong> (To Kill a Mockingbird, Roman Holiday, The Yearling<\/em>) will take on the role of Spock in Season Two of Discovery<\/em>, and he explained what fans can expect from him and from Spock.<\/p>\n

“I’ve done my best to capture and internalize [Leonard<\/strong>] Nimoy<\/strong>‘s Spock,\u201d he said. But “the Spock that we are creating, that I’m a big part of, isn’t as recognizable as the Spock that you’ve seen.<\/p>\n

“When we first see [Spock], he’s sort of unraveled. This is the time when this epic conflict within him \u2014 a human and Vulcan in one being \u2014 is really on the surface and plays out on the surface.<\/p>\n

“The Spock that we are creating isn’t immediately recognizable as a Spock you’ve seen. So we need to get him in a place where he is shaped and molded to the Spock that we will see in the Original Series.”<\/p>\n

After getting some episodes under his belt, does Peck feel worthy of the role? “I’m getting there,” he said. “Yeah, I think I do. I hesitate to say that because I don’t want it to sound arrogant or anything, but I feel that the Spock that lives in me is very real to me, and I hope that it appears that way to other people when they watch it. …I’m really excited for the world to see it. Hopefully it’s as good as it felt.”<\/p>\n
