Cook is a co-founding member of the band <em>Alabama<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The duo recently released a country album called <em>Why Not Me<\/em>, which featured guest vocals by country singer <strong>Neal McCoy<\/strong>, the band <em>Cash Creek<\/em>, and an a cappella group <em>Home Free<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve always loved country music,&#8221; said Shatner. &#8220;I think the best singers, performers and music are in country and I am delighted to think of myself being a small part of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel real honored that we got to work together, and I wouldn&#8217;t be opposed to doing it again,&#8221; said Cook. &#8220;This is probably the biggest project to come out of my studio.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Grand Ole Opry<\/em> appearance will include the title track, <em>Why Not Me<\/em>, which is an &#8220;uplifting reflection on how solutions to many of the world&#8217;s problems can begin with individuals taking personal responsibility.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iWlsSCJ6f0s\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In addition, in a nod to Trek fans, <em>Beam Me Up<\/em> is also on the album.
