{"id":49837,"date":"2019-01-16T11:06:38","date_gmt":"2019-01-16T19:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=49837"},"modified":"2019-01-16T11:06:38","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T19:06:38","slug":"vulcan-to-get-a-bird-of-prey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2019\/01\/vulcan-to-get-a-bird-of-prey\/","title":{"rendered":"Vulcan To Get A Bird-of-Prey?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Town of Vulcan, Canada will add a Klingon Bird-of-Prey to its collection of <em>Star Trek<\/em> starships.<\/p>\n<p>The town council agreed to the proposal on Monday to build the ship, but they must decide upon a location first.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re thinking this ship will be at the other entrance to town (along Elizabeth Street) or thereabouts,&#8221; said local businessman<strong> Pat Wisener<\/strong>, who presented to council Monday along with <strong>Paul Carreau<\/strong> of the<em> Klingon Assault Group<\/em> and <strong>Mason Dodds<\/strong> of the <em>Nine in a Line Creative Arts Society of Vulcan<\/em>. &#8220;We haven&#8217;t decided, so with your help we&#8217;ll kind of come to someplace that will be appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, when people come to see the <em>Enterprise<\/em>, they&#8217;ll come see the <em>Bird of Prey<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s a great proposal for our community,&#8221; said Mayor <strong>Tom Grant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Bird-of-Prey project will be funded through crowdfunding and grants. Local artist <strong>Gary McKinnon<\/strong> is working on the Bird-of-Prey project, which will not take place until the money has been raised.
