Today, it was announced that a new animated Star Trek<\/em> series that is aimed at children will be aired on Nickelodeon<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The “CG-animated series will follow a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.”<\/p>\n

The series comes from Kevin <\/strong>and Dan Hagerman<\/strong>, Eye Animation Productions<\/em> (CBS<\/em>‘s new animation arm,) Secret Hideout<\/em>, and Roddenberry Entertainment<\/em>. Nickelodeon<\/em>‘s Ramsey Naito<\/strong> will oversee the new series.<\/p>\n

“Star Trek, Nickelodeon<\/em>, and the state of animation are doing incredibly ambitious things as of late,” said Dan and Kevin Hageman. “We couldn’t be more excited to jump aboard.”<\/p>\n

“Star Trek<\/em>‘s mission is to inspire generations of dreamers to build a brighter future,” said Alex Kurtzman<\/strong>, who oversees all Star Trek<\/em> television projects. “Dan and Kevin have crafted a story that honors its exploratory spirit in a way that’s never been done before, while the Nickelodeon<\/em> team blew us away with their excitement at bringing Trek to a younger generation around the world.”<\/p>\n

“Partnering with CBS Television Studios<\/em> and the creative masterminds behind the Star Trek<\/em> franchise is an incredible opportunity and allows our audience to discover rich characters and new stories,” said Ramsey Naito<\/strong>, executive vice president animation production and development at Nickelodeon<\/em>. “Star Trek<\/em> is a franchise loved by generations of fans around the globe, and adding Nickelodeon<\/em> as home to the next animated series is a perfect fit.”<\/p>\n

This new series joins Discovery<\/em>, already airing; and Lower Decks<\/em>, the Picard show, and a Section 31 show; which are either in production or greenlit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
