{"id":50773,"date":"2019-05-06T12:09:39","date_gmt":"2019-05-06T19:09:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=50773"},"modified":"2019-05-06T12:09:39","modified_gmt":"2019-05-06T19:09:39","slug":"nimoy-wanted-to-die-with-dignity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2019\/05\/nimoy-wanted-to-die-with-dignity\/","title":{"rendered":"Nimoy Wanted To Die With Dignity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Star Trek<\/em>&#8216;s L<strong>eonard Nimoy<\/strong>, in the end stages of COPD, asked for help in ending his life.<\/p>\n<p>Nimoy&#8217;s widow <strong>Susan Bay<\/strong>, in an interview with <em>Inside Edition<\/em>, explained that Nimoy wished to be released from this &#8220;terrible&#8221; illness.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You cannot catch your breath,&#8221; she said, explaining the effects of the disease. &#8220;[Nimoy] couldn&#8217;t go out.
