Several years ago, TrekToday<\/em> reported<\/a> that Paramount was unable to come to terms on a deal that would have resulted in Paramount London<\/em>, an amusement park to have been located in Kent that would have included a Star Trek<\/em>-themed area.<\/p>\n

Today comes word that Paramount Pictures<\/em> has “returned with a deal to permit the Kuwaiti-backed development to base some of the rides on its movies” in the amusement park section of The<\/em> London Resort<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“The London Resort<\/em> is set over 535 acres \u2013 the equivalent of 136 Wembley Stadiums<\/em>.\u00a0 Three times larger than other UK parks, it will have two hundred acres dedicated to rides and experiences and a bespoke entertainment district devoted to a full-suite of hospitality experiences including the provision of thousands of hotel rooms.<\/p>\n

“Millions of pounds have already been invested in The London Resort<\/em> which will be one of the largest construction projects across Europe. Situated just seventeen minutes from London, on the Swanscombe Peninsula<\/em>, Kent, the resort will create thousands of jobs and once open will be a major regional contributor to the UK economy.”<\/p>\n

According to Integame Online, Paramount<\/em>‘s films “most likely to be targeted in new rides may be Transformers, Star Trek<\/em>, and Kung Fu Panda<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

“PY Gerbeau<\/strong>, newly appointed Chief Executive of London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH)<\/em> said: ‘The new partnership with Paramount<\/em> is fantastic news for everyone. Now the best of Hollywood will be joining the best of British from BBC Studios<\/em> and ITV<\/em> Studios,<\/em> to create amazing and unique experiences for the whole family.’<\/p>\n
