{"id":51259,"date":"2019-07-30T13:40:30","date_gmt":"2019-07-30T20:40:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=51259"},"modified":"2019-07-30T13:42:55","modified_gmt":"2019-07-30T20:42:55","slug":"new-star-trek-wines-coming-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2019\/07\/new-star-trek-wines-coming-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"New Star Trek Wines Coming Soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two new limited-edition Trek-themed wines can now be pre-ordered from <em>Wines that Rock<\/em> for a mid-September delivery.<\/p>\n<p>The wines are 2016 <em>Chateau Picard Cru Bourgeois from Bordeaux<\/em>, and a <em>Special Reserve United Federation of Planets Old Vine Zinfandel<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Fans of <em>Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em> and the upcoming <em>Star Trek: Picard<\/em> series, which premieres in early 2020 exclusively on <em>CBS All Access<\/em> in the U.S., will recognize <em>Chateau Picard<\/em> as Jean-Luc Picard&#8217;s family vineyard in France&#8217;s La Barre region. However, <em>Chateau Picard<\/em> is also the name of an award-winning, multi-generational vineyard in the Bordeaux region of France.<\/p>\n<p><em>Wines that Rock<\/em> has teamed with the actual <em>Chateau Picard<\/em> vineyard to introduce the<em> Star Trek Chateau Picard<\/em> wine. The <em>2016 Chateau Picard Bordeaux<\/em> is an 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot blend that is subtly smoky and spicy with a bright, fresh, clean-tasting style. The wine spends fourteen months in oak, 70% seasoned and 30% new.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>The United Federation of Planets wine is a 2017 Old Vine Zinfandel<\/em> from across the Dry Creek &amp; Russian River Valleys in Sonoma County, CA. It is a blend of 87% Zinfandel, 12% Petit Sirah and 1% Syrah. It has aromatics of concentrated strawberry, blackberry and plum preserves with a chewy-layered mid-palate filled with hints of white peppercorn, sweet red and black fruit. Elegant, stately and dignified are but a few words to describe the wine that Federation dignitaries might enjoy at their gatherings.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The first 1701 two-bottle combo packs include a numbered, limited edition of the <em>United Federation of Planets Special Reserve<\/em>. The first 1701 collectors will also have priority notices on all future releases. The wines will be featured this week at <em>Star Trek Las Vegas<\/em> \u2013 the biggest <em>Star Trek<\/em> event in the U.S. running July 31 to August 4 at the <em>Rio Hotel &amp; Suites.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>&#8216;Star Trek Wines<\/em> has brought out the true passions of our entire team.
