{"id":51294,"date":"2019-08-01T18:14:48","date_gmt":"2019-08-02T01:14:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=51294"},"modified":"2019-08-01T18:14:48","modified_gmt":"2019-08-02T01:14:48","slug":"two-kelvin-timeline-novels-to-be-released-next-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2019\/08\/two-kelvin-timeline-novels-to-be-released-next-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Kelvin Timeline Novels To Be Released Next Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the Trek publishing panel today at <em>Star Trek: Las Vegas<\/em>, as reported by <em>TrekCore,<\/em> attendees were told that two<em> Kelvin Timeline<\/em> novels, cancelled years ago, will now be published.<\/p>\n<p>The books are<em> The Order of Peace<\/em> by <strong>Alan Dean Foster<\/strong>, which was previously titled <em>Refugees<\/em>; and <em>More Beautiful Than Death<\/em> by<strong> David Mack<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Mack addressed the news on his <em>Facebook<\/em> page. &#8220;Ten years ago, I wrote a <em>Star Trek<\/em> &#8216;Kelvinverse&#8217; novel set after the 2009 feature film, showcasing the new characters and situations of that movie,&#8221; he said. &#8220;For behind-the-scenes reasons unrelated to my work, my book and three others in that setting were abruptly cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was announced today at <em>Star Trek Las Vegas<\/em> that my novel, <em>More Beautiful Than Death<\/em>, will be published next year, in August 2020, as a trade paperback.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m very excited by this news, because I have always been pleased by how that book turned out. I felt that it was a faithful continuation of those characters&#8217; stories, one that could not be possible in the original series incarnation of Trek.
