{"id":52668,"date":"2020-05-26T13:41:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-26T20:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=52668"},"modified":"2020-05-26T13:41:00","modified_gmt":"2020-05-26T20:41:00","slug":"richard-herd-passes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2020\/05\/richard-herd-passes\/","title":{"rendered":"Richard Herd Passes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Actor <strong>Richard Herd<\/strong>, best known to Trek fans for his role of Admiral Owen Paris on <em>Star Trek: Voyager<\/em>, is dead at the age of eighty-seven.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Boston in 1932, Herd was seen regularly on television beginning in the 1970s, with his most famous role being the Visitor Supreme Commander John in the sci-fi miniseries<em> V<\/em>, which aired in 1983.<\/p>\n<p>He appeared on other television shows and movies such as<em> Kojak, The Rockford Files, All the Presidents Men, The China Syndrome, Ike: The War Years, M*A*S*H, Dallas, V: The Final Battle, T.J. Hooker, Simon &amp; Simon, Quantum Leap, SeaQuest 2032, Seinfeld, The O.C., NYPD Blue<\/em>, and more.<\/p>\n<p>His Trek appearances include<em> Star Trek: Voyager<\/em> episodes<em> Pathfinder, Inside Man, Author Author<\/em>, and <em>Endgame<\/em>; and <em>The Next Generation: Birthright Parts I<\/em> and <em>II<\/em> as a Klingon. Herd also appeared in <em>Star Trek: Renegades<\/em> as Admiral Owen Paris.<\/p>\n<p>Herd was a member of the <em>Enterprise Blues Band<\/em>, which also included <strong>Vaughn Armstrong, Casey Biggs, Steve Rankin, William Jones<\/strong>, and<strong> Ronald B. Moore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of death was cancer.
