{"id":52994,"date":"2020-07-23T11:04:50","date_gmt":"2020-07-23T18:04:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=52994"},"modified":"2020-07-23T11:04:50","modified_gmt":"2020-07-23T18:04:50","slug":"star-trek-prodigy-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2020\/07\/star-trek-prodigy-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Trek: Prodigy Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At today&#8217;s <em>Comic-Con@home,<\/em> during the<em> Star Trek Universe<\/em> panel, <strong>Heather Kadin<\/strong> announced the name of the new animated <em>Star Trek<\/em> series that is aimed at children.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Star Trek<\/em> series will be called<em> Star Trek: Prodigy<\/em> and will begin airing next year on <em>Nickelodeon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Here is the official announcement which dropped today:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Nickelodeon<\/em> and<em> CBS Television Studios<\/em> today officially revealed the title and logo for its all-new animated series <em>Star Trek: Prodigy,<\/em> which follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation. The series is developed by Emmy Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (<em>Trollhunters <\/em>and<em> Ninjago<\/em>) and overseen for <em>Nickelodeon<\/em> by <strong>Ramsey Naito<\/strong>, EVP, Animation Production and Development, <em>Nickelodeon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The CG-animated series, which expands the <em>Star Trek<\/em> Universe, will debut exclusively on <em>Nickelodeon<\/em> in 2021 for a new generation of fans.
