{"id":5396,"date":"2009-02-05T02:01:02","date_gmt":"2009-02-05T01:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.slipserver.com\/wordpress\/2009\/02\/shatner-taunts-takei\/"},"modified":"2009-08-22T08:13:56","modified_gmt":"2009-08-22T15:13:56","slug":"shatner-taunts-takei","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2009\/02\/shatner-taunts-takei\/","title":{"rendered":"Shatner Taunts Takei"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Shatner-Takei feud heats up again. <!--more--><font color=\"yellow\">William Shatner<\/font> isn&#8217;t waiting for <font color=\"yellow\">George Takei<\/font> to appear on his show to begin hitting a raw nerve.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by <a class=\"link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/williamshatner\">The Shatner Project<\/a>, took pokes at Takei while explaining why Takei hasn&#8217;t yet appeared on <i>Raw Nerve<\/i>. &#8220;There&#8217;s a process that George has to be vetted, like you would vet a horse that you were going buy or a wife that you were going to marry,&#8221; explained Shatner. &#8220;You got to vet &#8217;em, you got to do a research, you got to Google &#8217;em. George is being Googled even as we speak. A&#038;E Network needs to OK each name.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Shatner assured Takei that he would be invited, while at the same time insulting him. &#8220;Apparently George wants to be [on the show] but George wants to be everywhere. So George, we&#8217;ve got your name on a list. We want to invite you, so now we need A&#038;E&#8217;s permission.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to Shatner, it&#8217;s now OK to invite celebrities like Takei. &#8220;We needed people with celebrity value&#8230;to get people to watch.
