{"id":54548,"date":"2021-06-08T12:25:47","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T19:25:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=54548"},"modified":"2021-06-08T12:25:47","modified_gmt":"2021-06-08T19:25:47","slug":"mulgrew-to-appear-on-showtime-anthology-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2021\/06\/mulgrew-to-appear-on-showtime-anthology-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Mulgrew To Appear on Showtime Anthology Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Star Trek: Voyager<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Kate Mulgrew<\/strong> will be taking on a recurring role on a new <em>Showtime<\/em> anthology series, <em>The First Lady<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The First Lady<\/em> is a &#8220;revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The first season will focus on<strong> Eleanor Roosevelt<\/strong> (<strong>Gillian Anderson<\/strong>),<strong> Betty Ford <\/strong>(<strong>Michelle Pfeiffer<\/strong>), and <strong>Michelle Obama <\/strong>(<strong>Viola Davis<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Mulgrew will take on the role of <strong>Susan Sher<\/strong>, a &#8220;longtime friend of the Obamas who worked with Michelle in Chicago health care. She &#8220;rejoined Michelle Obama as her closest confidante and chief of staff.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Others who will be in <em>The First Lady<\/em> are <strong>Aaron Eckhart<\/strong> as President <strong>Gerald Ford<\/strong>, <strong>O-T Fagbenle<\/strong> as President <strong>Barack Obama<\/strong>, <strong>Dakota Fanning<\/strong> as <strong>Susan Ford<\/strong>, and <strong>Ryan Jamaal Swain<\/strong> as <strong>Johnny Wright<\/strong> (hair stylist to Michelle Obama).<\/p>\n<p>Filming began on<em> The First Lady<\/em> earlier this year.
