{"id":54624,"date":"2021-06-24T12:14:43","date_gmt":"2021-06-24T19:14:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=54624"},"modified":"2021-06-24T12:14:43","modified_gmt":"2021-06-24T19:14:43","slug":"viacomcbs-restructures-its-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2021\/06\/viacomcbs-restructures-its-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"ViacomCBS Restructures Its Leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a bid to &#8220;bolster original programming and to help <em>Paramount +<\/em> achieve scale in a crowded market,&#8221; <em>ViacomCBS<\/em> has changed its leadership structure.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The strong launch and early months of <em>Paramount +<\/em> have demonstrated the power and potential of our platform, as well as audiences&#8217; appetite for a broad and diverse array of content, all in one place,\u201d said<em> ViacomCBS<\/em> CEO <strong>Bob Bakish<\/strong>. &#8220;The moves we are making today will accelerate that mission by putting <em>ViacomCBS<\/em>&#8216; most powerful assets \u2013 world-class content, iconic brands, global infrastructure and expertise, and the best talent in the business today \u2013 behind our platforms as we pursue the global opportunity in streaming.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here are the changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>CBS<\/em> president and CEO <strong>George Cheeks<\/strong> will also act as chief content office, news and sports, at <em>Paramount +<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><em>Paramount Pictures<\/em> chairman and CEO <strong>Jim Gianopulos<\/strong> becomes <em>Paramount +<\/em> chief content officer, movies, in addition to running the studio.<\/li>\n<li><em>ViacomCBS<\/em> president of music<strong> Bruce Gilmer<\/strong> is now chief content officer, music, for <em>Paramount +<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chris McCarthy<\/strong>, president of the <em>MTV Entertainment Group<\/em>, will now also serve as chief content officer for unscripted entertainment and adult animation in streaming.<\/li>\n<li><strong>David Nevins<\/strong> will become chief content officer, scripted originals, at <em>Paramount +<\/em> handling both drama and comedy series.
