Abrams<\/b>, who guest-edited the issue. The &#8220;Mystery Issue&#8221; of <i>Wired<\/i>, edited by Abrams, is available on newsstands this month.<!--more-->Some features from the issue are online, including a short behind-the-scenes video describing how Abrams was chosen to guest edit the special issue and how the issue was put together, including the <i>Star Trek XI<\/i> Spock comic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every few years, we hire a guest editor,&#8221; explained <b>Thomas Goetz<\/b>, deputy editor for <i>Wired Magazine<\/i>. &#8220;We kind of look through the <i>Wired<\/i> world and try to identify people we think are cool or have especially powerful ideas that we could kind of bring to the magazine and kind of have what we hope is a powerful collaboration. So J.J. was on our list for a long time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We decided to do an entire redesign of the issue, said <i>Wired<\/i>&#8216;s Creative Director <b>Scott Dadich<\/b>. &#8220;We wanted it to look like an issue of <i>Wired<\/i> that felt almost like an episode of one of J.J.&#8217;s TV shows.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>To read more, head to the article located <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/wired\/issue\/17-05\">here<\/a>.
