Star Trek XI<\/i> has been beamed up to the International Space Station for the viewing pleasure of the three-man crew.<\/p>\n
As reported by Universe Today<\/a>, Paramount sent a copy of Star Trek XI<\/i> to NASA’s Mission Control, who then uplinked the movie to the International Space Station, orbiting two-hundred-and-twenty miles above the Earth. NASA astronaut Michael Barratt<\/b> is currently on the station, as well as Russian Cosmonaut Gennady Padalka<\/b> and Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata<\/b>. <\/p>\n “I remember watching the original Star Trek<\/i> series and, like many of my NASA co-workers, was inspired by the idea of people from all nations coming together to explore space,” said Barratt. “Star Trek<\/i> blended adventure, discovery, intelligence and story telling that assumes a positive future for humanity. The International Space Station is a real step in that direction, with many nations sharing in an adventure the world can be proud of.”<\/p>\n The crew will watch the film on a laptop computer in the Unity module. <\/p>\n Star Trek<\/i> has been viewed in space before.
