Although it appeared that Ronald D. Moore<\/b>‘s Virtuality<\/i> was as good as dead, FOX has changed its mind about the show and additional episodes are now planned for production.<\/p>\n
As reported by Airlock Alpha<\/a>, an entry in Doug Drexler<\/b>‘s blog shared the good news with his readers. “We got the word that a show we thought was dead is now on the fast track,” said Drexler, who was the CG supervisor for the Virtuality<\/i> pilot. “It’s Ron Moore’s Virtuality<\/i>. It just goes to show you how this business goes. It was dead, dead, dead…now it’s alive, alive, alive…and they want it now, now, now!” Virtuality<\/i> is about a group of space travelers on a ten-year journey to explore a distant solar system. To endure the long trip, the crew has advanced virtual-reality modules. All is well until a virus enters the system and puts the lives of the crew in danger. <\/p>\n Last December, Moore was asked to change elements of the series to make it more mainstream. In addition, author Joe Haldeman<\/b> claimed that Virtuality<\/i> bore a striking resemblance to his Old Twentieth<\/i> novel, published in 2005.
