{"id":5675,"date":"2009-06-03T22:05:10","date_gmt":"2009-06-03T21:05:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.slipserver.com\/wordpress\/2009\/06\/okuda-to-receive-nasa-award\/"},"modified":"2009-08-22T08:11:41","modified_gmt":"2009-08-22T15:11:41","slug":"okuda-to-receive-nasa-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2009\/06\/okuda-to-receive-nasa-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Okuda To Receive NASA Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Star Trek art designer <b>Mike Okuda<\/b> will be recognized next month for his contributions to the look of the U.S. space program<\/p>\n<p>As reported by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/\">Wired<\/a>, Okuda, well-known to<i> Star Trek<\/i> fans for his many contributions over the years dating back to the days of <i>Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/i>, will receive the NASA Exceptional Public Service Medal for his work on multiple exploration missions. <!--more-->Okuda&#8217;s design work for Project Constellation includes program emblemsfor the Altair, Ares, Constellation and Orion program.
