As reported by Starship Farragut: The Animated Episodes<\/a>, in Power Source<\/i>, written by Thomas J. Scott<\/b>, the Farragut, commanded by Captain John T. Carter “is dispatched to search for the USS Azrael, commanded by Captain Glenn. When they find Glenn, they also find that Glenn and his crew is under the influence of alien technology.“We are pleased to collaborate with NEO f\/x team on bringing the animated version of the Starship Farragut project to life,” said John Broughton<\/b>, creator and executive producer of the series. “Just as Farragut Films paid meticulous attention to detail with the sets, costumes, and props to the original series of Star Trek<\/i>, so does the NEO f\/x’s team with the look and feel of Filmation’s animated Star Trek<\/i> series; we’re proud to be the first Star Trek<\/i> film project to be presented in live action and animation.”<\/p>\nVoice work is done by the primary actors from the live-action Starship Farragut series, as well as guests. In Power Source<\/i>, several of the guests voicing characters will be familiar to Star Trek<\/i> fans; Chase Masterson, Tim Russ<\/b> and Chris Doohan<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The Starship Farragut is a sister ship to the Enterprise during the time of the original series.<\/p>\n
Power Source<\/i> has been in the works for over a year, according to Michael Struck<\/b>, manager of the NEO f\/x team. The first act was released on July 20, to commemorate the first moon landing in 1969. Acts 2 and 3 will follow in August. The entire episode will be available for download on August 31.<\/p>\n
In addition to Power Source<\/i>, another animated episode will appear in the future; The Needs of the Many. For those who liked TOS: Arena<\/i> and the Gorn, this will be an must-watch episode.<\/p>\n
