Mad Max was last played by <strong>Mel Gibson<\/strong> in 1985&#8217;s <em>Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charlize Theron<\/strong> (<em>Monster<\/em>) is director <strong>George Miller<\/strong>&#8216;s top choice for the female lead in the sequel.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7567\" title=\"102109TomHardy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/102109TomHardy.gif\" alt=\"102109TomHardy\" width=\"168\" height=\"250\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Everything is tentative this early in the process. According to <em>E!Online<\/em>, &#8220;the Mad Max revamp is a long way from fruition, and Miller is being very secretive about the roles and plot. Actors auditioning for the film have only been given a letter for their character&#8217;s name.
