Details of a scene written for the possible inclusion of William Shatner<\/strong> in Star Trek XI<\/em> have become available.<\/p>\n

TrekMovie has posted a copy of a scene “Alternate Scene B” written for Shatner for Star Trek XI<\/em>, which was written but never shown to Shatner. The scene did not violate the fact that Kirk died in Star Trek: Generations<\/em>.<\/p>\n

TrekToday reported on part of this “scene not seen” back in May, as seen here<\/a>. Co-writers Alex Kurtzman<\/strong> and Roberto Orci <\/strong>spoke about it during an interview with io9<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the scene, Spock Prime gives Zachary Quinto<\/strong>‘s Spock a holo-emitter pendant, which reveals Shatner’s Kirk singing “Happy Birthday” to Spock Prime. After singing\u00a0 to Spock Prime, Kirk says “I know I know, it’s illogical to celebrate something you had nothing to do with, but I haven’t had the chance to congratulate you on your appointment to the ambassadorship so I thought I’d seize the occasion. Bravo, Spock, they tell me your first mission may take you away for awhile, so I’ll be the first to wish you luck, and to say, I miss you, old friend.”<\/p>\n

There is another scene where Spock Prime passes Sarek. Sarek turns after Spock Prime passes as something about him seems “oddly familiar” to Sarek.\u00a0 A voiceover done by Kirk’s Shatner plays during this scene.<\/p>\n

Shatner’s Kirk is also hear during the award ceremony scene, where Pine’s Kirk is called before everyone to be honored and to be assigned to the Enterprise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
