I think it&#8217;s so empowering and sexy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7944\" title=\"120809Saldana\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/120809Saldana.gif\" alt=\"120809Saldana\" width=\"140\" height=\"150\" \/>Inspired by other actresses who have led the way, Saldana wants women to be heroines in movies, not just sex symbols or mothers. &#8220;I love actresses like <strong>Angelina <\/strong>[<strong>Jolie<\/strong>] and <strong>Jessica<\/strong> [<strong>Biel<\/strong>],&#8221; she said. &#8220;They&#8217;re very agile, they incorporate their bodies with their characters and they pick women who are very strong. I really dig that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Saldana credits Jolie, <strong>Salma Hayek<\/strong> and <strong>Halle Berry<\/strong> for giving actresses more options in movies. &#8220;Before them, women were just sex pots or mothers,&#8221; she said. &#8220;They were never the heroes who saved the day. They&#8217;ve enabled a generation of actresses to have a bigger variety of roles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not that Saldana minds sexuality, she just wants more options for women. &#8220;If I wanted to be part of a story that is amazing and had a lot of sexual openness, that&#8217;s fine.
