{"id":8207,"date":"2010-01-20T15:58:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-20T23:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=8207"},"modified":"2010-01-20T15:58:00","modified_gmt":"2010-01-20T23:58:00","slug":"roddenberry-induction-ceremony-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/01\/roddenberry-induction-ceremony-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Roddenberry Induction Ceremony Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Television Hall of Fame ceremony will honor seven inductees into the Hall of Fame this evening and amongst the inductees are <strong>Gene Roddenberry<\/strong>,<em> Star Trek<\/em> creator.<\/p>\n<p>Roddenberry joins actress <strong>Candice Bergen<\/strong>, art director <strong>Charles Lisanby<\/strong>, announcer <strong>Don Pardo<\/strong>, comedy and music talents <strong>Tom<\/strong> and <strong>Dick Smothers<\/strong> and game show creator <strong>Bob Stewart<\/strong> as the newest members of the Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8208\" title=\"Roddenberry012010\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Roddenberry012010.gif\" alt=\"Roddenberry012010\" width=\"150\" height=\"200\" \/>&#8220;Each year, the Television Academy has the privilege of honoring television greats that have contributed to the development and success of this ever-evolving medium,&#8221; said Television Academy Chairman-CEO <strong>John Shaffner<\/strong>. &#8220;We are very pleased to be able to induct them into the Hall of Fame for their many achievements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To have the opportunity to once again be a part of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee is a true honor,&#8221; said <strong>Mark Itkin<\/strong>, chairman of the Hall of Fame selection committee. &#8220;These individuals have each made extraordinary and lasting contributions that have meant so much to multiple generations of television viewers.
