The alter ego of Steve Rogers, Captain America&#8217;s powers were the result of an enhancement due to an experimental serum. Originally, Captain America assisted the U.S. during World War II, fighting against the Axis.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8408\" title=\"PineCaptainAmerica021210\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/PineCaptainAmerica021210.gif\" alt=\"PineCaptainAmerica021210\" width=\"136\" height=\"150\" \/>According to the Paramount source, &#8220;Anyway, just thought you guys might like to know that Paramount and Marvel are pretty close to closing a deal on casting Steve Rogers\/Captain America and fans might be excited to learn that the short list includes somebody a lot of fans speculated about, Chris Pine. From what I&#8217;m hearing, he&#8217;s the frontrunner right now, though that could change.
