{"id":8479,"date":"2010-02-23T14:01:12","date_gmt":"2010-02-23T22:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=8479"},"modified":"2010-02-23T14:01:12","modified_gmt":"2010-02-23T22:01:12","slug":"rare-star-trek-1975-convention-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/02\/rare-star-trek-1975-convention-film\/","title":{"rendered":"Rare Star Trek 1975 Convention Film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in August of 1975, <em>Star Tre<\/em>k fan <strong>Rich Portnoy<\/strong> shot almost four minutes worth of 8mm movie film showing original series cast members at a Chicago<em> Star Trek<\/em> convention.<\/p>\n<p>The 1975 <em>Star Trek<\/em> convention, attended by over 14,000 people, was held from August 22-24 at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In attendance were the original series actors, younger and with classic 1970s hairstyles. They included: <strong>Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, DeForest Kelley, Walter Koenig, James Doohan, Nichelle Nichols <\/strong>and <strong>George Takei<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Also in attendance was <strong>Arlene Martel<\/strong> (T&#8217;Pring from <em>Amok time<\/em>,) wearing a scarf over her dark hair.<\/p>\n<p>The cast was &#8220;guarded&#8221; by security personnel dressed up as (old style) Klingons.
