{"id":8724,"date":"2010-03-30T15:06:42","date_gmt":"2010-03-30T22:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=8724"},"modified":"2010-03-30T15:06:42","modified_gmt":"2010-03-30T22:06:42","slug":"john-jefferies-sr-passes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/03\/john-jefferies-sr-passes\/","title":{"rendered":"John Jefferies Sr. Passes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>John Jefferies<\/strong> Sr., art designer on the original series, died at the age of seventy-four on March 25 in Sherman Oaks, California due to complications from lung cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Richmond, Virginia, Jefferies was one of three brothers, the other two being Matthew and Phillip, who worked as art and set directors and production designers.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->John and brother <strong>Matt Jefferies<\/strong> worked on the original series, and were responsible for the design of the original phaser pistol.
