{"id":8840,"date":"2010-04-12T15:15:41","date_gmt":"2010-04-12T22:15:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=8840"},"modified":"2010-04-12T15:15:41","modified_gmt":"2010-04-12T22:15:41","slug":"star-trek-the-experience-auction-complete-but-another-to-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/04\/star-trek-the-experience-auction-complete-but-another-to-come\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Trek: The Experience Auction Complete But Another To Come"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For fans who missed last weekend&#8217;s Propworx auction of items from the former <em>Star Trek: The Experience<\/em>, another auction will be held in August.<\/p>\n<p>Items sold at the Propworx auction held on Saturday were not the &#8220;prime&#8221; items, but they sold at a brisk clip anyway.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/PropworxAuction041210.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8841\" title=\"PropworxAuction041210\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/PropworxAuction041210.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><strong>Vic Bowman<\/strong> went home with a large replica of a Klingon Bird of Prey, paying $1000 for the beat up model. Bowman, who builds props and creates artwork for haunted houses and Renaissance fairs, will fix it up though. &#8220;I will have to make it pretty, &#8221; he said. &#8220;I will probably just sit in the dark and stare at it, and drool.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to fans, some of the actors and extras who used to work at <em>The Experience<\/em> came to buy and to reminisce. Some bought their old uniforms. <strong>April Hebert<\/strong>, who played two different characters at <em>The Experience<\/em> for eleven years, the Vulcan professor T&#8217;Pril and Commander Tahryn, was in attendance with fellow employee <strong>Vernon Wilmer<\/strong> (Borg Drone 7 of 16). Both were sad at the demise of <em>The Experience<\/em>. &#8220;We stare at the blank wall where <em>The Experience<\/em> used to be,&#8221; said Wilmer. &#8220;It&#8217;s half depressing and half beneficially therapeutic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the objects along with the Klingon Bird of Prey for sale last Saturday included a Borg alcove ($800) and vent tubes inscribed with &#8220;Plasmacoil&#8221; and &#8220;Cryogenic Fluid&#8221; ($200).<\/p>\n<p>Other items deemed to be in better condition than the items for the Propworx sale will be auctioned off this August at the Hilton, during the annual<em> Star Trek<\/em> convention.
