{"id":9018,"date":"2010-04-28T13:57:26","date_gmt":"2010-04-28T20:57:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=9018"},"modified":"2010-04-28T13:57:26","modified_gmt":"2010-04-28T20:57:26","slug":"star-trek-online-no-sequel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/04\/star-trek-online-no-sequel\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Trek Online: No Sequel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Star Trek: Online<\/em> developer Cryptic has said that there will be no sequel to <em>Star Trek: Online<\/em> in the future.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/111909CSTO2.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9022\" title=\"111909CSTO\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/111909CSTO2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"176\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a>The popular game will instead be updated as it is needed. &#8220;I&#8217;m not really sure it makes sense to create a sequel in the MMO market,&#8221; explained <strong>Craig Zinkievich<\/strong>, executive producer for Cryptic. &#8220;Typically, you see a MMO called a sequel because either a new team worked on the property or the original team wanted to reboot their IP.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With <em>Star Trek<\/em>, the beauty is the story is never really finished, so as the IP continues to grow, so can we.
