Abrams <\/strong>and<strong> Josh Reims<\/strong>, has been picked up by NBC and will air during the new fall season.<\/p>\n<p>Starring <strong>Boris Kodjoe<\/strong> (<em>Soul Food<\/em>) and <strong>Gugu Mbatha-Raw<\/strong> (<em>Doctor Who<\/em>), <em>Undercovers<\/em> is the story of married ex-CIA agents who get pulled back into the spy world.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/120809Abrams.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9045\" title=\"120809Abrams\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/120809Abrams.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"194\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>&#8220;We have tremendous confidence in this promising series and feel this is a great way to kick off our upcoming Upfront development announcements,\u201d said NBC Chairman <strong>Jeff Gaspin<\/strong>. &#8220;J.J. has delivered another signature series along with our partners at Warner Bros and we couldn\u2019t be happier.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Having J.J. on our creative team is a great reason for celebration,&#8221; said NBC President <strong>Angela Bromstad<\/strong>. &#8220;In <em>Undercovers<\/em>, he&#8217;s found a breakout couple that is rich in character and brimming with romance and action. We feel he&#8217;s found the perfect cast.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to the synopsis for the pilot, &#8220;Outwardly, Steven Bloom (Kodjoe) and his wife, Samantha (Mbatha-Raw), are a typical married couple who own a small catering company in Los Angeles and are helped by Samantha&#8217;s easily frazzled younger sister, Lizzy (<strong>Jessica Parker Kennedy<\/strong>). Secretly, the duo were two of the CIA&#8217;s best spies until they fell in love on the job five years ago and retired. When fellow spy and friend Nash (<strong>Carter MacIntyre<\/strong>) goes missing while on the trail of a Russian arms dealer, the Blooms are reinstated by boss Carlton Shaw (<strong>Gerald McRaney<\/strong>) to locate and rescue Nash. The pair is thrust back into the world of espionage as they follow leads that span the globe \u2014 and Steven and Samantha realize that this supercharged, undercover lifestyle provides the excitement and romance that their marriage has been missing.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Undercovers, the new spy drama from J.J.
