{"id":9250,"date":"2010-05-24T14:20:32","date_gmt":"2010-05-24T21:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=9250"},"modified":"2010-05-24T14:21:39","modified_gmt":"2010-05-24T21:21:39","slug":"bead-me-down-scotty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/05\/bead-me-down-scotty\/","title":{"rendered":"Bead Me Down, Scotty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Beads3-052410.gif\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9251\" title=\"Beads3-052410\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Beads3-052410.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Artist <strong>Devorah Sperber<\/strong> has created another <em>Star Trek<\/em> sculpture made out of spools, chenille stems and semi-translucent beads.<\/p>\n<p>In the lobby of the Microsoft Studio D office in Redmond, Washington is a unique sculpture, which appears to show the crew of the original series materializing before their eyes.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Beads4-052410.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9252\" title=\"Beads4-052410\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Beads4-052410.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"218\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a>The sculpture, created by Sperber, was inspired by the original series episode <em>Mirror, Mirror<\/em>, although the crewmembers are not in their Mirror, Mirror uniform versions, alas.<\/p>\n<p>This is not Sperber&#8217;s first <em>Star Trek<\/em> sculpture. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/news\/190308_03.shtml\">TrekToday reported<\/a> on Sperber&#8217;s Trek artwork two years ago.
