{"id":9663,"date":"2010-07-16T15:10:19","date_gmt":"2010-07-16T22:10:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=9663"},"modified":"2010-07-16T15:10:19","modified_gmt":"2010-07-16T22:10:19","slug":"collins-joins-new-nbc-drama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/07\/collins-joins-new-nbc-drama\/","title":{"rendered":"Collins Joins New NBC Drama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Clifton Collins Jr<\/strong>., best-known to <em>Star Trek<\/em> fans as Ayel the Romulan in <em>Star Trek XI<\/em>, will be appearing in <em>The Event<\/em>, a new NBC drama series that will debut this fall.<\/p>\n<p>Collins will play Thomas, who is a &#8220;key player in the show&#8217;s secret conspiracy who will come into contact with the President of the United States (played by <strong>Blair Underwood<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/RomCliftonCollins041310.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9664\" title=\"RomCliftonCollins041310\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/RomCliftonCollins041310.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"112\" \/><\/a><strong>The Event<\/strong> is described as &#8220;an emotional high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (<strong>Jason Ritter<\/strong>), an &#8216;everyman&#8217; who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fianc\u00e9e, Leila (<strong>Sarah Roemer<\/strong>), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sean&#8217;s quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including: newly elected U.S. President Martinez; Sophia (<strong>Laura Innes<\/strong>), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Sean&#8217;s shadowy father-in-law (<strong>Scott Patterson<\/strong>).
