{"id":9989,"date":"2010-08-20T12:36:26","date_gmt":"2010-08-20T19:36:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/?p=9989"},"modified":"2010-08-20T12:37:49","modified_gmt":"2010-08-20T19:37:49","slug":"trek-auction-fetches-almost-300000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/08\/trek-auction-fetches-almost-300000\/","title":{"rendered":"Trek Auction Fetches Almost $300,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this month, a <em>Star Trek<\/em> auction by Propworx was held at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel, as reported by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/2010\/08\/propworx-trek-auction-take-two\/\">TrekToday<\/a>; featuring props, furniture, artwork, models and costumes.<\/p>\n<p>Two pieces from the original series era commanded the highest prices, while a photo of Data&#8217;s cat Spot brought in more than ten times its estimated value.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Auction1-082010.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9990\" title=\"Auction1-082010\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Auction1-082010.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"124\" \/><\/a>An original series translight from the TOS bridge sold for the highest price, $16,800. The bridge translight shows the actual schematic of the U.S.S. Enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>The second-highest price was for a Klingon Battlecruiser model, which sold for $12,000. The model was created for<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Auction2-082010.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9991\" title=\"Auction2-082010\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Auction2-082010.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"78\" \/><\/a> <em>Star Trek: The Motion Picture<\/em> but was never used in the movie. This model was based on an original model now in the National Air &amp; Space Museum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert Picardo<\/strong> (EMH) was in attendance to auction off the chair in which he sat during his time on <em>Star Trek: Voyager<\/em>. The chair sold for $3,000 and a translight that had been behind the doctor&#8217;s desk went for $4,000.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Auction3-082010.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9992\" title=\"Auction3-082010\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trektoday.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Auction3-082010.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"110\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>The surprise of the auction was the popularity of Data&#8217;s painting of his cat, Spot.
