'Renaissance Man,' Voyager's last regular episode, is set to feature the return of both Ensign Vorik (Alexander Enberg) and Ayala (Tarik Ergin).
The official site has just released the full cast and crew list for the episode, in which "the Doctor must become a master of disguise to save Captain Janeway." According to the list, the episode will feature:
- Alexander Enberg as Vorik
- David Sparrow as Alien/Doctor
- Andy Miner as Nar
- Tarik Ergin as Tactical
- Wayne Thomas Yorke as Zet
- J.R. Quinonez as Overlooker/Doctor
Vorik first appeared in the third season episodes 'Fair Trade' and 'Alter Ego' as part of the set-up for his role in 'Blood Fever.' In that episode he succumbed to the Pon Farr, only to pass it on to Lieutenant Torres when he expressed a desire to mate with her. Since then Enberg has played the Vulcan engineer in 'Day of Honor,' 'Demon,' 'Extreme Risk' and 'Counterpoint.' Ayala has been a regular extra over the years, making his debut in the series premiere 'Caretaker.'
Directed by long-time Trek veteran Mike Vejar ('Barge of the Dead,' 'Pathfinder'), 'Renaissance Man' was written by Phyllis Strong & Mike Sussman from a story by Andrew Shepard Price & Mark Gaberman. This season, Strong and Sussman have penned 'Body and Soul,' 'Prophecy' and 'Author, Author,' whilst Sussman was responsible for the story of the season six cliffhanger, 'Unimatrix Zero.'
As Voyager approaches the end of its journey, the writers have been trying to wrap up the stories of many of the characters seen over the years. Last week, Lieutenant Joe Carey returned in 'Friendship One,' only to be killed by an aggressive alien leader. The episode 'Homestead' is rumoured to be the last hurrah of the ship's Ambassador, Cook and Morale Officer, Neelix. Naomi Wildman, Neelix's god-daughter, also makes an appearance in the epsiode. However, there has been no news on whether Naomi's mother, Ensign Wildman, will return to wrap up her character's storyline.
'Renaissance Man' airs May 16 on UPN. Thanks to Janet's Star Trek Voyager Site for the above image.
